Face-to-FaceTime: Running Writing Workshops and Peer Review in the Age of Remote Instruction
A Talk by Michael Noltemeyer (Lecturer, Loyola Marymount University)
About this Talk
Running effective writing workshops and peer review sessions was hard enough even before a global pandemic forced us to shift to remote instruction almost overnight. How do you run an effective asynchronous workshop? How do you keep feedback constructive when online discussions so easily devolve into name-calling and negativity? And how do you ensure that everyone gets as much out of the experience as possible? This short pedagogy talk will offer some suggestions to help address these concerns for everyone struggling to navigate this brave new world of writing instruction.
