About this talk

Join Kate for a virtual discussion with freelance editor and writer Andrea Barilla. For writers who pursue a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing, career options may seem limited to the cutthroat world of teaching in higher education. Not so. Cumiskey and Barilla chose other paths post-MFA, paths that have allowed them the freedom to live and write where they choose, rather than chasing jobs in academia.

Kate Cumiskey

Kate holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Florida. She is the author of four books, and her work regularly appears in fine literary magazines and peer-reviewed journals.
