Andrea Barilla

About this Speakers

Andrea Barilla is in her tenth year as a freelance editor and writer. A planner by nature, she has learned to be patient with the process of building a small literary business from scratch and finding time for her personal writing pursuits. She is a member of several professional groups including ACES: The Society for Editing and the Editorial Freelancers Association. While Andrea chose a career outside teaching, she fulfills her passion for learning by editing for the Savannah College of Art and Design’s eLearning department, for whom she has edited over 150 courses in the past eight years. She also enjoys helping individual authors fulfill their writing dreams, working with them from idea to draft to book proposal or book completion. She is excited to virtually attend her dream writing conference this summer, She Speaks, to find inspiration for her own book ideas. Andrea holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from UNC Wilmington and a BA in English from Westminster College in Pennsylvania. She has a passion for mental health; loves iced coffees from Starbucks; takes too many pictures of her tuxedo cat, Alfred; and has a secret dream to write and record her own album. Her website is www.andreabarilla.com.
